Two weeks have already past. China is such an interesting country! We have visited so many fascinating, yet weird places. The Chinese culture is so unique. We have already visited the Great Wall of China, and the tallest mountain in the world, Mount Everest.
Two days ago we arrived in Hong Kong. Yesterday we took a day trip to Lantau Island. Lantau Island is Hong Kong’s largest Island. The pristine beaches surrounding the island make it feel so tropical. There are so many things to do!
We decided to take the Giant Buddha tour earlier today. It was a clear blue day with not a cloud in sight. It took a long walk through the green mountainous track until we finally reached the statue. The Buddha was hard to see at first with a large group of people crowding the area. The majestic figure of the whopping 26 metre Buddha was cast in China and took 12 years to complete. After walking exactly 200 steps in the hot sun, we finally reached the platform where the Buddha is seated, and finally got a full view of it. The Buddha has a bronze colour and very detailed.

Before we had to leave the humid island, we had only one more place to explore, the Po Lin Monastery. This is a traditional market stall filled with Chinese cultural gifts and goods. The Monastery was initially a small temple constructed by three Buddhists. Over the years, the Monastery has grown in size. The monastery is filled with the cultural colours; red and yellow. The sunset was arriving and it was time to leave the island. To top it off, we left the island on a luxurious yacht to the main land of Hong Kong.

This island is defiantly the highlight of my holiday.
